Sixty percent of players who hit a payment problem say they'd switch to a competitor that promised faster withdrawals. That's from PayNearMe's survey of US sports bettors and iGaming players, and it's the number every operator should have on the wall. In this business, the payout is the product experience.
Yet most gaming platforms still run payments the hard way.
The five-vendor problem
Ask an operator how money moves through their platform and you'll hear about a merchant processor, a bank account or three, a payout vendor, a compliance stack, and a treasury process for getting profits back to the parent company. Five relationships, five contracts, five fee schedules, five sets of data that never quite reconcile.
That setup creates three problems, and each one costs real money.
Problem one: you're holding player funds. When deposits land in your bank account, you're in custody of other people's money. That's the activity that pulls a platform into money transmission rules. Getting licensed across all 50 states runs $1 million to $1.5 million and takes roughly two years, with New York, California and Texas alone taking 12 to 24 months. Most operators never meant to become a financial institution. They just needed somewhere for deposits to land.
Problem two: players wait. A payout vendor batches, reviews and releases on its own schedule. PayNearMe found that 29% of players have had trouble funding or withdrawing, and nearly a quarter of those who couldn't deposit left and never came back. A quarter of the ones who stayed called customer service instead, at up to $6 a call. Slow withdrawals are a churn event with a support bill attached.
Problem three: profits home is a leak. Moving operating funds to a parent company in another country means correspondent banks, two to five day settlement, and an FX markup buried in the rate. The Financial Stability Board puts the average cost of a B2B cross-border payment at 1.6%, and no payment type has hit the 1% target. On a $100,000 repatriation, the gap between a 0.4% and a 2% FX markup is $1,600. Per transfer.
What MassPay does instead
MassPay runs the whole flow - funds in, custody, payouts, profits home - on one platform, one integration and one contract.
We hold the funds, so you don't. Player deposits and processor settlements land in an FBO account at MassPay, not in your bank account, with a separate ledger for every brand. You never take possession of player money, which keeps your platform out of the scope of money transmission. No two-year licensing project, no surety bonds, no state examiners.
Players get paid instantly, on the rail they choose. Players in the US withdraw to bank transfer, debit card via Visa Direct, PayPal, Cash App, wallet or stablecoin, with instant options available. You decide the model: let players pick, push payouts on your own schedule, or both. VIP players get dedicated wallets. Every payout is validated before it leaves and routed for speed, cost and reliability.
Profits reach the parent company anywhere. When it's time to move operating funds home, MassPay delivers them in the currency the parent company wants, across 180 countries, with single-hop FX or none. No banking stack to build in each market, no correspondent chain taking a cut at every hop.
Crypto in, fiat out. Accept crypto or stablecoin on your own site by API or SDK, receive fiat in your local currency with near-instant settlement, and pay out in either.
Your brand, your data. Fully white-labeled, with an individual ledger and full visibility per brand. You see every movement in real time, in one place. Reconciliation stops being a monthly project.
Compliance runs inside the flow. KYC, KYB, AML, sanctions and velocity checks before, during and after money moves, on infrastructure that is PCI DSS Level 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified, with tier 1 banking partners.
The commercial part
No lock-in. No fees on failed transactions. One contract.
That last one matters more than it sounds. Every vendor in a stitched-together stack has its own agreement, renewal date and account manager. Collapsing them into one changes how fast you can launch a brand, enter a market or add a payout method.
The short version
You didn't get into gaming to run a payments company. MassPay takes the whole flow - player funds in, winnings out, profits home - and runs it under your brand, so you can get back to the game.
We care about your people getting paid, everywhere.
